I am always writing about how I eat. It sounds so boring when I say that I mostly eat meat, eggs, healthy fats, and vegetables.

But it’s not! Seriously, once you embrace this way of eating, you truly can eat delicious healthy meals every single day.

Delicious Healthy Foods are Not Your Typical “Diet” Food

Old school dieting was about removing the fat and substituting flavorless food-like substances. (rice cakes and skim milk, I’m looking at you.)

To get the most nutrition, it’s way better to take real foodand use healthy fat and seasonings to make it delicious and satisfying.

Once you get used to eating this way—you will never want to eat any other way. Not only will your taste buds be happy but your body will be happy.

How Eating Real FoodHelps Your Body

Here’s the thing. Real food makes your body feel good. Saygoodbye to all the unpleasant side effects such as gas, diarrhea, and bloating.Most people have sensitivity to grains and dairy. When you eliminate those—you usuallyeliminate tummy problems.

More importantly, you reduce inflammation in your body andyou might even lose a few pounds.

To help me convince you to try eating real food, I’ve rounded up 25 delicious healthy recipes to inspire you.

What are Delicious Healthy Recipes

These are delicious healthy recipes that use only real food. In general, this means that they contain:

  • Protein
  • Vegetables
  • Healthy fats

A couple of the recipes include a little dairy but this can be easily omitted. If dairy isn’t an issue for you, feel free to keep it in. If you are in a Whole30, definitely leave it out!

These recipes made from real food and won’t raise your blood sugar too much. If there are certain proteins or vegetables you don’t eat on your plan, you can adjust as needed.

I’m picky about what I cook. So here were my criteria forpicking these recipes.

VARIETY I like to mix it up and eat different proteins and vegetables. Especially the vegetables! The more you can work into your diet, the better nutrition you’ll get.

WOW FACTOR. I also wanted recipes that I would order off a menu if I was eating out. Sometimes you want the wow factor in your meals. These meals all made me wish I could go out and order them!

EASY FOR THE HOME COOK. It’s important that you can actually be able to find the ingredients in your local store, or even better you have the things in your pantry.

CLEAR INSTRUCTIONS. These recipes deliver with instructions that even non-cooks like me can do.

Here is one of my own recipes, Roasted Beet and Sweet Potato Salad with Balsamic Vinegar. It’s loaded with colorful and nutrient-packed vegetables but so good, it’s almost decadent.

When I first made it, I included feta cheese. Since posting it, I’ve eliminated most cheese from my diet and don’t miss it.
