Cornelis Albertsen was born about 1675 in Amsterdam, Netherlands.
Cornelis had four known children:
- Cornelis;
- Nikolaas (Nicholas);
- Johannes (John);
- Daughter, name unknown.
- Amongst his American-born descendants Cornelis Albertsen is known by the anglicised name Cornelius Albertson. No authentic sources have been found for Cornelis.

- Nicholas Albertson came from Amsterdam, Holland, in 1728 with Anglechea Vandewater, his wife. A brother, John (Johannes) accompanied them. He was several years younger than Nicholas. They landed in New York City. Nicholas moved to Far Rockaway Beach, Long Island, NY. John went to Philadelphia, PA and became private secretary to the Colonial Governor of Pennsylvania. They were the sons of Cornelius Albertson, of the City of Amsterdam, Holland who was said to be a man of considerable property, and engaged in the shipping business. He had an older son, named Cornelius, and there was also one sister, whose name cannot be learned. They were both said to be single, and died rather young. The son Cornelius was drowned from falling from a ship into the Zuyder Zee. Nicholas and John each received from their father on their departure for America, as their share of their father's estate five thousand guilders, or about two thousand dollars.

Albertus Robert Casimir (Fuller) Jung
26 June 2018. The parents of this person are IMPOSSIBLE. Cornelius was born in Amsterdam, as were his son Nicholas. How then could his parents and grandparents have been born in America? The supposed father Derrick was only five years old at the birth of supposed son Cornelius, and Dinah, the supposed mother, was only one year old at the birth of the subject of this profile! Shouldn't these parents be detached?
